If you were asked to buy one item, it is likely to be a critical part of dinner. On the other hand, I find it difficult to believe a Plugger would ever run out of cream of chicken soup. Can’t make Hot Dish without it!
Our main grocery store is forty miles away. There are closer ones, but far more expensive. Therefore, we plan ahead and shop only once a week, except emergencies.

If I were Andy, I’d get the cream of chicken tonight. If he messes up again by getting cream of mushroom, I’d wait until tomorrow.

A smart spouse writes a list as the other is talking and checks it before going. Or consults on the cell phone.
