Yup, let my 4-year-old granddaughter help last year. We had an over-abundance of ornaments in the first 3 feet of the tree.

The kids should always decorate the tree – or at least help in large heaping portions.

On the other hand, the fragile ornaments have to be high up on the tree in any cat household.

There never were any candy canes on the tree by New Years! (There were still some by Christmas only because we decorated the tree Christmas Eve!

The kids also have very short attention span.
