I thought something similar when I was first learning multiplication. Then things went south.

Sally’s multiplication woes continued in strips like these: CB: What is two times seven? Sally: One million? CB: You’re guessing. CB: You certainly need help with your times tables, Sally. I can see that. Let’s try the threes. How much is three times zero? Sally: Six? Twelve, Overly eight? Twiddley two? Well, am I getting closer? CB: Actually, it’s kind of hard to say.

Tooty-Two is what you get when you eat too many beans.

Good job Sally. Now we know what present she needs for Christmas.

Sally is adorable. I have known other small children who say hilarious things.

You would think Sally’s big brother would say something constructive here.

I’m surprised she’s even required to learn multiplication at this stage. She’s only in first grade — multiplication and division are too advanced for that grade level. I didn’t have to start learning them until third grade!

Multiplication tables were grade two when I was in school.

“OH GOOD GRIEF” The only comment that fits.

Is this a “dumb blonde” joke?

Near the end of The Peanuts Movie, Sally thinks she’s done with school at the end of school year. Charlie Brown explains it’s just the end of kindergarten for her. She still has 8 years of grade school, 4 of high school, then 4 of college. She declares that’s 30 more years and she’ll be old & wrinkly before she finishes school.

Although, if she gets left back because of her lack of math skills…….

We’ve all had those moments when we were her age. I remember a “TIME” test in grade one where the only question I got wrong out of ten was…If it’s a quarter after one what time is it. I answered 1:25

When my Mum used to take me to school. We always went through the multiplication tables together on the way.
