It is insane that we have this band of crooks who are deeply involved with Russian money laundering running our country. Clearly the fortunes of the whole family are deeply intertwined with a corrupt Russian oligarchs and Putin’s dictatorship. Really hard to imagine how this will make America Great Again.
His actions were not proper, and most likely it was collusion with the Russians that he was doing with all his meetings with them. He was so flexible, he created a secret back channel to collude with the Russians while avoiding monitoring by the US intelligence agencies all before Trump was even in office. His weak defense of what he did raises more questions than it answers and shows he is wholly unsuited to do his job. The investigation will determine how much Russian funds he has received. Jared didn’t delete his emails, he leaked the Don Jr. Emails to the media, which made Don Jr. release them on twitter. Jared established a secret channel as a private citizen to discuss US politics with the Russians. Who knows how much uranium they promised the Russians?
By meeting with Natalia Veselnitsakya under the clear understanding that she was an official Russian Government emissary willing to help them defeat Clinton, Kushner, Manafort & Trump, Jr. made it clear to Putin that they had no qualms about allowing Russia to act on their behalf in our election. That’s the textbook definition of collusion.
Whether or not Trump, et al broke any laws is a question for legal experts & possibly the courts. There is no question they broke the trust of the American people when they accepted help from a nation that has no regard for our values or interests around the globe. There is no question that rather than openly owning up to their actions & willingness to undermine our national interests for political & possibly economic gain, they have lied & attempted to cover up the truth.
Comparing the hopes that we could patch up relations with Russia & swing Putin to a more friendly stance to the West back in 2011 is dishonest. It’s ironic that the same people who flagellated Clinton for playing a small role in the sale of a Uranium mine to a Russian company want to excuse Trump for far worse. If it’s such a “bad deal” why doesn’t Trump use his executive powers to force them to sell it back? I’m pretty sure he can do that through an Executive Order. Mind you, none of that uranium can be exported, so it seems like a stupid idea to me.
