Obamacare needs lots of improvements — but 400 or 500 filibusters prevented any from happening.
Now, Republicans are in control of the legislature and the White House.
.
And they don’t know what to do.
They don’t want to repeal.
They don’t want to replace.
They sure as heck don’t want to improve.
.
And the whole thing is too complicated for the Mar-a-lago denizen, so he sits and waits, pen in hand for a ‘win’ that he doesn’t even know what he’d want it to be — except tremendous, incredible, beautiful, and the best thing ever that he had no interest in.
Strangest thing, in all the other countries with elected governments and national healthcare, never have we heard that anyone ran and won on a platform of getting rid of said national healthcare. Don’t they have “conservatives” too? Don’t they have rich folk who can pump massive amounts of money into getting a government that can be controlled?
Your president Trump wants Obamacare to fail and put 30 million people out of health care. He is using government money to run ads against health care. Republicans are insane.
Oh, great, JLOCKE, I, one person, deals with a herd of monster insurance corporations for just the specific, individualized plan from their menu. That would sure work. Hey! I’ve no pre-existing condition, so I don’t need that kind of clause (if provided at a price I can afford), and I’m healthy, so I don’t need a prescription plan (until I do, and then it’s too late.) The Insurance companies love you.
Instead of buying insurance, why don’t we find out why health care is so expensive? Have you ever looked at an itemized statement from the hospitals? Fifty ($50) dollars for a Tylenol tablet is ridiculous, just like the rest of the bill. That’s the problem, not insurance.
Any large project or program ever implemented needed to be changed and fixed to cover unforeseen issues. Repealing ACA is like tearing down a house instead of fixing the leak in the roof.
Yeah, designing a medical insurance program for 300 million people will never work. In fact designing ANY law for 300 million people will never work. We should abandon all efforts at designing any law at the federal level.
.
For example, what we used to think of as treason, is now a reasonable thing, something any politician would do to help themselves get elected.
.
And Medicare and Social Security, well, they have worked only in the sense that everyone who reached the appropriate age benefited, many even survived rather than died, but hey that’s, you know, socialism and we’d all be better off without it.
I think you got it turned around Michael. Deaths chair should say Trumpcare while the makeup artists shirt should say Repugs. They’re bending over backwards to find the magic formula to fix the replacement for Obamacare to get enough votes to pass. Of course that will never happen so are republicans ready to work with Democrats now to strengthen the Affordable Care Act or allow Trump to eagerly kill it ?
I have been on Obamacare for awhile. Works fine for me. Every time I need it, it works like any other insurance I have had. Ramirez copies the GOP talking points and acts like it’s failing. The truth is that the GOP has been sabotaging it since they cancelled the ads during enrollment and used ACA money to run ads against the ACA. That’s your GOP in action. But Ramirez may as well be on the payroll of the RNC.

The ACA saves lives, in many ways, and yes, it needed fixing, to take out all the amendments the REPUBLICANS inserted! SINGLE PAYER IN!!

Can we just have the health care Congress has, Mr. Ramirez?

I agree – just take all the stuff that Republicans insisted on adding in.
