Roger Ailes is the founding president of Fox News Channel who previously worked as a media consultant for the campaigns of Republican presidents Nixon, Reagan, and GHW Bush, as well as Rudy Giuliani.

Not only his he partisan, his background is spin, not journalism. To add to his infamy, he produced Rush’s TV show.

MSNBC’s founders have no such ties to any political party.

Just proof that if you and everyone you watch is leaning to the right, then vertical starts to lean left.

Anyone who claims MSNBC is not in the tank for Obama is a raving lunatic. MSNBC admits and brags about it. GET REAL you idiots. Compared to the American people, Fox News is left of center. They just seem to lean right because all the rest of the media is so far left.

Okay, I’ll bite. MSNBC is not in the tank for Obama. They’ve got Pat Buchanan, for Pete’s sake. And when Obama screws up, they call him on it. Fox gives softball love-fests to Republicans, and criticizes liberals who aren’t allowed to defend themselves there because they aren’t welcome. Yes, MSNBC gave money to Democrats. They gave the same amount to Republicans. Fox gave millions strictly to Republicans. When was the last time you heard a left-wing voice on Fox? Not a Democrat, an actual left-wing voice?

There simply is no equivalence between Fox, a starkly partisan network that is far to the right and which seems to care nothing for the truth; and MSNBC, National Public Radio, or any other news source, which are careful to give balanced views and correct their mistakes when they make them.

Democracy Now is probably the closest thing you could find, but they at least ask hardball questions.

The key is the partisan donations from News Corpse to Republican PACs like the RGA and Chamber of Commerce. They are just another fund-raising entity for the GOP.

The latest about Fox relates to the fact that every major Republican contender for the 2012 presidential candidacy (except Mitt Romney) is currently on the Fox payroll.

Are there any Democratic national level candidates on the payroll at MSNBC?

When you’re on a payroll, you develop loyalties to the paycheck provider. The current issue goes beyond the content on the stations, to the buying of political clout in the future by a news media tycoon.

gbrucewilson, you are making a case for yourself being a “raving lunatic.” Fox is LEFT compared to the American people? Which people are these? Living with their Aryan militia in a bunker? Numerous people have studied things like proportion of guests of each party, positive versus negative statements about given views, and slant of editorials, and the bottom line is that while individual reporters are often leftists (which might tell you something, since theoretically they are closer to what is really going on - or maybe they’re just poor), the stories that get published and especially shown on TV are undoubtedly and consistently right-leaning, if only because the owners of the media are typically invested in the status quo and will kill stories that challenge it. Murdoch has a long, LONG history of right-wing yellow journalism; why on Earth do you think it would be different on FoxNews than anywhere else in the world where he broadcasts and prints papers?

GE owns NBC and has given hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Democrats. That is their constitutional right.

The US is a center right country far to the right of every single network except Fox. The reason the audience for Fox is more than all their competition combined is that is what America wants.

Not what the liberals on both coasts want. They have every other station.

If the G.O.P. and the Tea-Party libertarians gain a majority in the House of Representatives and Senate in Congress in 2010 and win the White House in 2012, it will be the first time in American history and world history that a media empire acted as a lobbyist for a political party and put a political party and its leadership in the seat of the leading nation in the Free World and the West and will , thus, influence both its foreign and domestic social, political, and economic and military policies for years to come in the 21st century. Will that be step forward or a step backward. A great deal hangs in the balance in the upcoming November Congressional elections. I hope the American people are fully aware of what they are doing…..and I hope that all the media are presenting the full story and facts, not merely the propaganda. It could matter a great deal……
