Been listening to a certain NPR news quiz for a number of years now, and I’ve concluded that the best joke answer when you have no knowledge of the subject is always either “poodles” or “yodeling”. (A former regular panelist on the show once suggested that you could answer any question either “squirrels” or “underpants” and have a good chance at it being correct.)
When my sister or I would ask our mum what was for dinner, she’d give us some wild answer, and I did the same for our girls. I’ll have to add this to our repertoire.
I’m with Earl – my stock answer is “seven”. When someone has the gall to suggest that my answer is wrong, I immediately accuse them of asking the wrong question.
Looks like this is another strip that they have elected to edit out the first part of the strip. I e-mailed one of their people about the problem and he did not seem to care.
