take them outside and let max run the stink off and start whispering to Luci about the flowers ect. I’ve always gotten a little one to quiet down fast by whispering.

Yeah, I don’t know about this. Adding more to the mix is a recipe for more chaos. Especially with this family… :-)

Wow, that was fast. You flagged a spammer 12 minutes ago, and it’s gone.

Wally is doing the right contacting Val. Val and the girls will calm the situation down. Old saying cat’s away mice will play, same goes this time with mom being gone kids go bonkers. Not all toddlers are like Max.

Years ago, I had goats that, in summer, I’d put in a portable pen so they could mow the lawn. Friends stopped in near the time for the goats to go back to the barn. One friend offered to help. I gave him the least … um … rambunctious goat, that still wrapped himself around my friend’s legs.

There’s a reason some people call children kids.

No, vanpelt, the one thing Max doesn’t need is getting over-medicated when he’s so young. He’s a normal, active toddler who just needs a way to burn off all of that excess energy. Of course, sedating children because it’s easier than taking proper care of them isn’t new, by any means. Back in Victorian times, there were parents who used to give their children laudanum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laudenum) to keep them quiet! Is giving pre-schoolers Prozac any better?

I agree! Medications are not the answer. ADD is just a silly excuse and I probably have had it all my life too - but I refuse to take even allergy meds anymore and have lots of whole grains, seeds and fresh fruits and veggies. Sharing my recipes with anyone who wants them and now slender and healthy in my 70s.

VanPelt…Max is a typically developing toddler. I worry about the ones who aren’t rambunctious. (I had 3 lively boys & 1 lively girl and taught his age group so I know about little boy toddlers)

It could be that is how Wally perceives Max’s behavour and not truely how wild Max is. It is a comic and poetic license and all.

That said, I’ve babysat kids that whooped it up when the parent’s left.

Wally is doing what is right…calling for support.
