do what I do (what my parents suggested): write down on a scrap piece of paper your passwords and stash that away somewhere rememberable

when I worked in the bank, they suggested using a word translated to numbers. It’s easier to remember the word.

computers are programmed to ‘forget’ passwords so that computer repair places can make a living. :)

I actually had that happen. Somehow, an ad blocker did something to a password wallet that caused the wallet’s data to become corrupted.
