It’s also good to remember that when Hoss “assaulted” a wolf in the first place, it was to protect a pig who lost an eye. This scenario hardly looks like “restitution” and looks to be going way beyond “retribution.”
In the mean time, as others have mentioned (and been “called out” for), we, the readers, still have no background information or context for any of this violence, be it the wolves claiming “victim” status or the mysterious disappearance of pigs and their suspicious “suicides.”
Walt’s flashback was mercifully short, especially since all it did was explain how Walt became the town drunk and mayor. I would gladly accept Portia’s flashback right about now, even if it were a lengthy one, if for no other reason than to start putting pieces of this puzzle together.
This one wolf is at least not able to be a victim any more, but I have the feeling she will be killed off screen, so we will guess at him or someone else killed her – after he beat her up.

Yay, she escaped! The wolf might trash the place out of spite, but so far she’s on her way to safety. We hope.

Here’s hoping for a Wile E. Coyote moment for the Big Bad Wolf.

The construction in the last panel confuses me. Is that an open door with a window in it?

The Wolves have decided to show that they are as bad as everyone thinks. Shoot to kill.
