You could move the whole house. Now wouldn’t that be fun!

At least their kid wants them to move into their neighborhood. That is a good rating of their parenthood.

Mrs. Loop and I had the same conversation. Once. I knew that no reason existed to have it again. She can stay here, if that is her wish because I don’t believe that one person ever has the right to tell another person what to do.Myself, I will move in about five years to be close to our only child and daughter-in-law.

Our local daughter and her daughter (and their spouses) are moving from Maryland to North Carolina, and are pressing us to go. She doesn’t want to shovel snow; I can shovel now more easily than water. Besides, we’re retired; we can afford to wait for the snow to melt.

It’s easier to move when you’ve either outgrown your current home or the neighborhood.

Janis, You value the memories of you child, more than actually being with your child?

…if you have a close family, then home is where they are…my parents finally sold their home (in a very poor end of town) – it was a little hard on my mom, she was actually born in that house…but now we all gather in the summer at their cottage, which has become the family focal point. In the winter, my parents have been heading down south to visit 3 of their kids that moved to warmer climes. They also occasionally spend time with the other 2 in less warm locales, and there are 4 of us still in the area to spend time with…we drive by the old house, and the pangs have gone – the house is still there, it didn’t disappear into the night…

Move south to escape snow? At the rate denial is taking power, you will find the snow has become rare where you left and desertification is setting where you have moved.
