Art Buchwald, the great political humorist, occasionally wrote columns that quoted sanctimonious comments by current politicians and, in parentheses, imagined what they were really thinking. I look forward to the day when televisions might come with a feature that shows such “closed captioning for the reasoning impaired.”

Trump had a presidential moment. Will his actions follow his words?

Perhaps he read a nice speech, but his persistent absence of sincerity overshadows his words.

I thought reading from a teleprompter showed that you are stupid and unfit to be president.

A polygraph just measures certain body functions, such as respiration, pulse rate and skin conductivity (to see if you’re sweating) among others, because some people claim that those who lie will worry about being caught and it will show in these ways. If you lie all of the time or don’t have a conscious, it won’t work, therefore Donald Trump is immune to this test.

Audio polygraphy is based on measurement of vocal stress overtone patterns. It has a bit of a storied history, Wikipedia has a decent article on it, perhaps a bit more negative than strictly required. The conventional polygraph is not perfect, either, and there is little evidence that either polygraph is anything like perfect. The conventional polygraph gets a certain cachet from the requirement to pass a polygraph test to acquire a full top secret clearance. From a scientific standpoint, there’s little to separate between this requirement and the recognition of certain governments of the talents of “witch finders”.

I thought Polygraphy was against the law.

Great cartoon! The Tramp managed to read a great FAKE speech written by a pro. His soulless acting was embarrassing: obviously no Oscar material. Alec Baldwin would have done a much better job. So, as Rags says, there’s no way a polygraph test would work on a political Frankenstein like this fraud-in-chief.

Trump can lie faster than you can fact check.
