Yeah, I remember Spot running, too.

But not a lot else, cos in my school we had “Alice and Jerry” ….

    and our dog was “Jip.”

I don’t really remember what Jip did, either…

except have a stupid name and see some ducks… unless that was Jerry.

The word “ducks” had been replaced, for first graders, by a tiny picture of several ducks….

    which greatly annoyed me.

So during “Reading Circle,” I read library books slipped inside my open reader,

and when the teacher called on me to read the next line aloud, I said “huh?”

This was, I soon found out, not accepted practice in the Cleveland school system.

Spot runs, barks, eats, sleeps and poops just like any other dog.

I don’t know what else Spot does, but I can tell you that we better keep an eye on Dick and Jane. I think they are having fun.

    Spot resists leaving the house,

“out damn Spot, out I say”.

    Second “Daddy’s Home” Question:

Did you read those primers when you were kids?

I just love Stan. Yes, I remember reading those and I actually liked them – way back when.

Third grade, we are all in a circle, reading until we get to a period. Then it is the next child’s turn.

My turn…..I’m reading out loud….3 pages later, the teacher (Miss Chick) tells me to go pick out a book from the library shelf and read to myself…..end of me being bored our of my mind.

Downside, I read the library shelf in a week.
