I don’t mind 6" or even 12", it is when you keep getting them and then the ice damns on the roof and the leaks and it is NOT a misspelling. Once you pay $1000 to have your roof cleaned, you don’t say DAM!

If he’d taken the one on the right first, it would have been a good Mick drop.

Needachuckle, an ice dam ruined the roof on our sun room. It melted slowly and constantly through the shingles until the sheetrock underneath was drenched, and then it all hit the floor. One of my teachers makes it a habit to fill mesh bags with salt and toss them onto her roof to prevent just such occurrences, but I learned that method too late.

I, too, suffered from an ice dam – the water backed up until it found a seam, and the water came pouring in. Roof and interior repairs wound up costing over $1000. NONETHELESS – that was still FAR better than suffering through a winter without snow. I’ll happily take minor property damage if it results from an abundance of snow. (I’m going to have to start flushing ice cubes down the toilet to see if that’ll get it to snow here….)
