Glad those days are over . .. but then again, in the working world it’s not called grades, it’s called Appraisals and it sucks . . . at least you knew you could get the best grades if you studied and worked hard enough. If you work hard enough in the working world, that might not matter.
Every time I try to sign in to comment, I have to do it twice. I get no response on the first attempt. Is anyone else having that problem? Other than that, I like the new format.
I hated report card days. OMG! Did I do bad. My brother was cleaning my parent’s attic and found them, one had 13 F’s for the year, graded 4 times a year so at least 3 F’s a quarter and 1 for good luck, LOL! Some were for handwriting and other useless stuff so I was still promoted to next grades. I was not stupid but lazy, flunked out of college too. Now I’ve gone back to night school for a degree and have a 3.75 average. I finally see the need for education.

Grades are a useful tool to help teach personal responsibility. Students should be held accountable.

At my school we didn’t get letter grades until the 3rd or 4th grade. Before that it was just Satisfactory (S) or Unsatisfactory (U).
