Could see how well Cuba does with the trade blockade lifted and relations normalized. But I doubt that will happen because the U.S. does not want to see Cuba become the most successful of the Caribbean countries. Under Castro, the Cubans are among the most literate in the world with a literacy rate of 99.8% and high school graduation of 94%. Homelessness in Cuba is almost non-existent, with 85% owning their own home. Cubans have universal good quality health care. Life expectancy is 78 years which is third highest in the Americas after Canada and Chili, and just ahead of the U.S.. They have the highest doctor to population ratio in the world. Cuba contributes considerably to world health with tens of thousands of their medical personnel working abroad. Cuba has a high rate of “medical tourism” where many in other parts of the world, including the U.S., go for affordable medical treatment.
So much hate for the enemy the US government trained and equipped to do its bidding. People are only bitter because he turned against US interests. Had he remained a puppet, he could have been the most evil dictator on the planet and still been propped up by the US government. Funny how we complain about human rights abuses by our enemies and ignore the abuses by our friends.
“Can you imagine all those prisoners he killed waiting for his arrival?”Nope!
According to you he was evil and will live in Hell while ALL of those he imprisoned and killed are most certainly saints who will never see his final destination. How simplistic it must be in your mind, doing, saying, writing and thinking ONLY what you’re told to.
Batista was just as brutal as Fidel, and in fact, worse for the people.. But, he was the Mafia’s “go to guy”, and all that US money parted company with their casinos.
Hmm, Castro did give the people health care, and free, quality education. Just what Trump wants to take away from US!
Not sure I would consign the Nazi flag to the ash heap just yet, given what I saw in the presidential election. Its ideas are making a big comeback among including its socialist platform of jobs for Germans…er Americans.

Nope, he’s been living in reality and watching and listening to what the orang-u-tan has been saying and doing. And it’s NOT good.

“I’ve seen the theory pop up that Castro was aided by secret Communists in the US Government, but it’s basically nonsense. "
I had never heard of that and I was referring to CIA and others involvement in Castro’s revolution.

When Cubans are risking their lives floating north through shark infested water, how many Americans do you suppose they pass heading south?
