Don’t do it! I have both Windows and Mac and hate the upgrades. iTunes isn’t an operating system, but it is the worst about messing up your setup once upgraded.

All too real scenario, for the Windows 10 ‘upgrade.’

I agree. Windows 10 is a classic case of “If it ain’t broke, fix it until it is”.

One friend has a Mac that hasn’t been upgraded in 12 years, she’s a graphics designer and some of her favorite tools aren’t available on newer OSs.

Windows: will install a new os without asking to pump their stats about how many devices have installed the new os, even though your new os may leave unusable some devices or programs.

Apple: will make press reports about the latest upgrade, but the later reports will tell about how everybody who made the upgrade will have their devices bricked for a week till they make a patch to upgrade the upgrade, then the new upgrade will render unusable all important things till the next upgrade that comes out the next month

Linux: depends on which Linux. It may be just keeping the device plugged and let the os take care of it all; but we see some people complaining of that in Windows. Or, download the patch manually, and install manually, reading a manual because you have to unroll it in a specific directory, check for previous config, etc

A change isn’t an upgrade. You can’t call a system change an upgrade until it actually makes things BETTER rather than just different!
