Mr. Lester must be terrified each time his alarm clock goes off as he can’t tell the difference between it and a bomb.

Mr. Lester has a standard reflex cartoon template for this kind of thing. Here, we see it yet again. Here is one of Mr. Obama’s actual statements, from Monday:-“I think it is important to remember what terrorists and violent extremists are trying to do. They are trying to hurt innocent people, but they also want to inspire fear in all of us, and disrupt the way we live to undermine our values,” Obama said. “We all have a role to play as citizens in making sure that we don’t succumb to that fear. And there is no better example of that than the people of New York and New Jersey.”“Folks around here, you know, they don’t get scared. They are tough, they are resilient, they go about their business every single day. And that kind of toughness and resoluteness and a recognition that neither individuals nor organizations like ISIL can ultimately undermine our way of life,” Obama said. “That’s the kind of strength that makes me so proud to be an American.”

This is the same reason why black kids with toy guns get shot and no one seems to mind. If a brown kid has a clock or some candy, better to shoot first and ask questions later. Does Lester think that clock really was a bomb? Or that the kid is a terrorist?

Bombs with a digital readout exist only in movie thrillers to heighten suspense. No real-life bomb is going to have a sign saying “this bomb will go off at 5:30, so you have until then to disarm it.” That part of the Metroplex (stupid name) is a nest of white supremists and will vote at least 80% for Trump.

A white kid who did that wouldn’t have even been questioned by his school. The GOP is bent out of shape over imaginary fears that feed racist fantasies, and can’t see a real threat that moves too slowly for them to notice. Typical alarmists, and not even right twice a day.

This is a new low for a cartoonist that rarely raises himself out of the sewer.

What a moronic analogy. One IS a bomb. The other IS a clock. Was there some sort of grand conspiracy wherein the kid really did make a bomb and the liberal media spun it into a clock? Both devices are blatantly obvious to the most cursory observation, yet some yahoo saw a brown kid holding something that looked like something bad he saw on NCIS one night and went all racist on the poor thing. Obama tries to show the world that Americans aren’t entirely made up of ignorant fools and gets called weak on terrorism. This is the worst kind of political satire: lazy, ignorant, and plain pathetic.

I still think of all their Saudi buddies Cheney, Rummy, and Bush ushered to safety out of the country right after 9/11.

Show me I’m wrong. Show me the case of a white kid with a digital clock having the police called in like that.

Hippogriff: yep; on the satellite phone with my son in Iraq when I heard a familiar “whump!!”. He said he’d call back. When he did a half hour later he was furious! The IED was a truck bomb with 17 105 rounds in it from what they could determine. The transmission of the truck had gone through the door he was standing next to on the first call. The “team” guys were harassing him ‘cause he’d have to go find a new door to their building the next day.

Which, while VA has been very helpful, the Navy has said his PTSD and other disabilities weren’t “combat related” which means they deduct his VA disablitiy from his Navy pension. The Pentagon continues to screw many of our troops this way! I can testify, as his shrinks and orthopedists did, that his injuries WERE “combat related”, but the Navy turned down his appeal despite all the PROOF he submitted!

And no, there was no clock on that bomb, or warning it was going to go off.

Which, again, Bush folks rejected our returning injured vets, forcing them to go to the Board of Appeasl after three rejections of their VALID claims. GHW and “W” both did this to our troops, Obama has tried to help them out far more than either Bush, so did Clinton between the Bush fiascos.

It’s maybe why I’m so sick of jerks defending the Cheney admiinistrations with two Bush boys, while blaming Obams for trying to clean up their messes. (And Republicans in Congress haven’t helped a bit!)

Typical Con/low info voter. Can’t tell the difference between a real threat which must be addressed as a threat to national security and naked play on the white mans fear of others.Sad. I remember when white men like my father and grandfather thought of the world as theirs to explore, learn and improve. I guess their kind is rapidly fading from the American gene pool, only to be replaced with whiners and crybabies who want total security all the time and government guaranteed jobs in obsolete factories with no automation.
