At consignment shops and thrift stores you can sometimes find clothes with the tags still on them, that have never been worn!

My wife shops at thrift stores and sometime consignment stores and find some good deals and prices. Being 4’ 6" , there is a lot she can look at to think about buying.

The last dress I bought was made of very thick real silk — for five dollars. A very large price tag was still attached.

Years ago, I needed an outfit for a swing dance held in an aircraft hanger where they kept a B-17. At the time, period clothing was generally not something you could buy new. Luckily, I have small feet – because 70+ year-old-pumps are TINY.

One of my favorite sweaters came from a thrift shop. And I have a coworker who wears these beautifully coordinated outfits, all made of clothes that she gets from Goodwill.

I’ve bought one suit in the last forty years. Of course I haven’t gone to many things that required a suit to be worn.

I am retired in my early 60’s. I hardly ever buy clothes (just socks and underwear). All other clothes are given to me to pass along to charities so I can claim the taxes. I take some that fit me first, or I buy them at Goodwill. Yes eaven millionares buy at Goddwill. I love reading Poorcraft!!

True story: Our local Rotary Club has these used clothes sales regularly, often clothes the members don´t use anymore. One of the ladies produced a perfectly good mink coat, and was bought by another of the ladies for just 100 Mexican Pesos (about 5 Dlls), just because she was ashamed to pay the 10 pesos it would cost if put together with all the other clothes. Personally I would put it on Ebay or something and donate the profits to the club.
