And they are not assault rifles. I love cartoonists and politicians who don’t know which end of the rifle is the dangerous end. Remember the assault weapons ban? One of the characteristics listed for a rifle being an assault weapon was having a bayonet stud……..and how many bayonets have actually been used since WWII, even in wartime? Is knocking off the bayonet stud from a rifle going to make the world a safer place?

“Oh boy, I was gonna shoot me some people but they took away my bayonet! Guess I’ll stay home and watch Wheel of Fortune.”

    Politicians are stupid.

It’s not the rifle, but how many dead you leave in your wake that makes the man.

Given the latest police technology re remote controlled things. The next thing to make your neighbour take notice might be a remote controlled sentry. New growth opportunity here. That door bell video thing is pretty lame.. consider what effect a remote riffle would do.

As far as I’m concerned, if a weapon is used to assault other human beings, it’s an assault weapon. I frankly don’t give a rat’s a** what gun nuts’ definition is.

Then he took his shiny new assault rifle and shot up a school, or a work place or hid in wait for police officers. Until we are given permission by this one group to make some laws, we will have to just wait and see where he takes his assault rifle to. Because calling it something else, doesn’t bring back all the people you kill with it.

There is absolutely no need for any civilian to own an assault rifle….

hawgowarA bayonet is a device for turning a gun into a spear. Removing that capability in favor of more ready ammo is supposed to be descalation?

Hmm, in basic they teach you that if your bayonet gets stuck in the guy, pull the trigger and shoot him off your bayonet. My response was “If I still have a bullet you think I’m going to let him get close enough to stick a bayonet in him??” Guns kill a lot more, and from a lot further away, than edged weapons.

BTW: at close quarters, a 12 gauge shotgun shell holds 9 shot of 00 size. An M-79 shotgun round has 36 shot, a very deadly “effective” weapon. Dual purpose, not just a grenade launcher.
