don’t give your grandson any ideas, Earl… Opal was already mad at you for wearing mismatched shoes

Hmmm… I didn’t realize Nelson was such a rebel. The dark side is strong in this one.

Any kid who is even the least bit active will un-tuck the shirt just by moving. My teachers never understood that.

All kids where T-shirts. A polo shirt if they have a big head. No tucking.

I never had trouble tucking my shirt in. Keeping it tucked was a problem, as well as keeping it buttoned. Shirts just always came unbuttoned. In those days, tee shirts were thin white undershirts. Didn’t wear those unless it was cold and I needed another layer. Don’t like the fabric of polo shirts touching my skin. Wore mostly woven cloth shirts that buttoned part way down.

So does that mean Earl is an uptight slob or a lazy nerd?

Don’t let other people try to control your life. They don’t know squat.

Ask Grandma to get you one of those “flat bottom” shirts she told you about. You’ll feel more comfortable and not look like a slob.
