And they are illegal in almost all 50 states. Another thrill….

In Ohio, it is legal to buy fireworks, you just cannot legally use them. It was a war zone in my neighborhood for two days. There were quite a few again last night, but not nearly as bad.

People who love to annoy others with fireworks may get an unpleasant surprise themselves if they are living next to a military veteran with PTSD.

My best friend’s husband lives with PTSD and the 4th is the worst time of year for him.

We’ve had loud bangers and crackling firecrackers for about a week. My husband, myself and our cat are sleep deprived and TIRED OF IT ALL.

Yup….the whole idea is to annoy as many people (and especially dogs) as possible. Luckily, my cats don’t seem to even notice them but my friends with dogs say their pets go berserk.

We came down to Mississippi (and the grands’ 10 acres) this summer just so our kids could set off fireworks. Because if you don’t teach them the right way they will never learn. That includes safety, respect, and reasonable fun. So unlike the “professional” show in our town that goes until 10:30 and plays loud music, we were over before 10. There is nothing like getting a small spark on your leg to learn that fire burns and it’s not a toy. And when they have to pick up all the mess from the pretties the next morning before the rain, they learn to clean up after your fun.
