If it got the kids outside, doing physical activity, I’d settle for it.

I love Lizzie wiping her nose on her sleeve in Panel 2…classic! Kids will be kids…at least they’re being told that roughhousing belongs outdoors. Fresh air and exercise…Elly is quite literally picking her battles. Let it go.

You could have been describing my childhood ! That’s exactly how it was between my brother and I while mom was at work.No fun !

Beating kids has been shown time an time again to be a terrible and damaging practice. Many people say “I was hit, i turned out ok.” Except, if you think inflicting pain and fear on a child is perfectly fine, you did not turn out ok.

She does not “spare the rod”. We’ve seen Michael with stars radiating off his derriere often enough. And when that happens, the Elly haters call her a child abuser. Poor lady can’t win, and she isn’t even real.

I guess I had it made. I have an older sister. We were the best of buds. She lined up dates for me and I lined up dates for her. Both of us in our 80’s now and we are still VERY close. Communicate almost daily. We had spats now and then but nothing serious. She looked out for me in grade school and I watched out for her in later years.

I never fought with my younger sister when we were growing up. (only sibling) I was busy taking care of her because my mother didn’t.

Right. The way to teach kids not to hit each other is to set the example by hitting them. Got it.

once when my younger sister was picking on me, i yelle at her and my mom smacked me. when i asked why, she said “because you were closer”

I have to admit that I picked on my (three years younger) kid brother from time to time. That ended as soon as he got bigger than me in our teens!

At least they are getting fresh air!
