Lucky the school is still there. The corporate war on the public schools is being waged vigorously in Philadelphia.

My old elementary school made it to 100 years, now slated for demolition after they built the new one. I won’t actually miss it- too many painful memories.

When my kids were young, I was able to drive them back to my schoolyard and let them play on the same stuff that was there when I was their age. It felt pretty cool. The school’s since gentrified the place, replacing the good stuff with “sanitized for your protection” equipment installed on foam rubber and the obligatory soccer field…

My high school is now an apartment complex. I guess I could rent my old chem lab.

It had two swimming pools and two basketball courts when I was in school. Hope they’re still there.

My elementary school is an apartment building. My middle school is city offices. My high school is bulldozed and relocated. Even my college dorm is gone, replaced by a lawn… [sigh]
