I could never get into SNL. Every time I’d try to watch it Chevy Chase would walk out on the set and fall down. I’d ask myself why I was doing this to myself and change the channel.
It has become incredibly hateful towards conservatives and very political now. Not to mention there are almost no filters on what they can say or not say anymore (haters before you pile on I’ll save you the trouble – I DID quit watching it.)
Haven’t watched it in years. Every time I try I don’t laugh. Or I laugh at the absolute grotesqueness of the comments that aren’t actually funny.
I was never much into it, but Dana Carvey and Mike Meyers were good. Joe Piscopo was great too.
I think NBC is afraid to get rid of it because they have nothing else to put in that time slot. And they don’t want to kill what was an icon (20 – 40 years ago.)
