Reminds me of Nick Szalinski in 1989 film “Honey, Shrunk the Kids” also confused about neighbor Russell Thompson giving CPR to Nick’s sister Amy and said he learned it in French class… then Nick understood it at film’s end.
Always answer in a matter-of-fact tone. I learned later that they already knew a lot of stuff and were trying to either get me flustered or embarrassed.
Two daughters…first one listened with total interest…second child refused to talk to me. I finally gave her a book and said “Read it and let me know if you have any questions.” She would discuss her friends’ experiences but not her own. And yes, her friends not hers. She made that clear to me years later after it didn’t matter anymore.
I never got the official “talk” (Dad said “be careful”; Mom said “don’t you dare !” Personally I think she wanted me to go blind.)I got technical training in biology. But I really preferred the old trial and error method.
Nope, it is not my turn. I taught my oldest three children to drive it is their dad’s turn to teach the youngest three. It was his job to talk to the boys about puberty and my job to talk to the girls.
