When the Democrats nominate Clinton, they will be handing the election to the GOP. Many voters will not be able to stomach voting for her and will stay home. After all, if you choose the lesser evil, you are still choosing evil.
If Ms. Clinton’s skeletons come out of the closet, the D’s are going to need a legitimate candidate. I am fairly certain that Sanders will support Hillary (Clinton) if she is still a viable candidate,
Sanders has the the support of the independent voters who could not vote for him in many states especially New York where you have to declare a year in advance which party you want to vote for.
In states where independents can choose which party to vote for, Sanders wins, Hillary (Clinton) mostly won in states where only long-term registered Democrats could vote. For some reason, the media (who had already decided that Trump and Hillary (Clinton) were to be the winners about a year ago) didn’t report this trend.

There will be even more of a hangover if either of the Republicans won if they believe in the ideals of Bernie.

In a previous generation, this cartoon could have pertained to young supporters of “Clean Gene” McCarthy.

Oh, if it comes down to a choice between Trump and Hillary (Clinton), Hillary is my next-to-last choice and Trump is my second choice.
If we survived Richard Nixon, we can survive Clinton.
