…and yet, under Bush, Saudi Barbaria mostly behaved itself, barring arranging 11/9. Under Obama, not only does it openly arm and train jihadi cannibal headhunters, it’s been openly invading Yemen for a year, bombarding markets and weddings….and Obama, who allegedly hates it, is giving it weapons en masse with which to do so.
Saudi Arabia is a major player in the Middle East and generally has supported the US You can’t ignore them or bomb them out of existence. Future presidents will also have to deal with them. We clearly have a troubled relationship with them and especially their brand of Islam but you simply cannot ignore them.
The president concluded a visit to Saudi Arabia where he received a dry reception that reveals the recent estrangement between the US and SA. A package of Saudi-related bills recently introduced in US congress has further undermined Obama’s efforts to smooth the way for the new US leadership into the Riyadh. The bills would allow Washington to hold Saudi nationals, including members of the royal family, liable in US courts in connection to the terrorist attacks on US soil in 2001.
And Bush bowed to King Abdulah and held his hand. Anything Obama has done makes you throw up, you don’t like having a black president, we all get that.
The Mobil oil Saud family relationship has run things there since 1923. Oilmen like Bush kissed up to them for decades, and provided them weapons, and we had bases, which bin Laden objected to. When Saudi Arabia “nationalized” the oil company, they turned management over to Mobil. They’ve long used that money to fund Wahabbi radicalism from Riyadh to Indonesia, wherever there is a moderat Islam, they’ve sought to radicalize it. Interesting all the Republicans condemning Islam, ignore the longest standing most radical of them all, the House of Saud.
It’s time we called ’em on their actions, but Obama is right in that lawsuits DO expose the US to the same, and there would be thousands of legitimate claims made against our government, and corporations if the legal gates are opened.
