I’m a Phoenix native too. There are very few times of day that Chandler Blvd isn’t faster than the 202 east. (BTW, the 202 is a state route, not an “I”.)
Ohh yeah, I didn’t miss that. My gf thinks that she knows better than the GPS, and we’ve been on some really interesting “longcuts” when I decide to take her advice. Meanwhile, if the GPS is going “Make a U-turn if possible…make a U-turn if possible…what the he!! are you doing??”

I can actually do this in my car. Built-in car GPS vs. iPhone Maps. They frequently disagree.

There are times when I use the “Avoid Freeways” option on my in-car GPS. Handy option to invoke.
