I hear some scientists have to be careful how they phrase their findings so that flat earth creationists can’t take it out of context for their own agenda. Phoebe could have benefited from a similar principle.

I agree. Do away with toothpaste and replace it with a daily allowance of fluoride cotton candy. Paradigm Shift.

Her parents should say she doesn’t have to brush her teeth just the ones she wants to keep.

There you have it: sometimes jargon doesn’t triumph over common-sense parenting.

“Evolution is a belief about something that can’t be proven”

    Wrong.

Not only is evolution as close to proven as anything in science gets, it has been directly observed all the way up to the level of speciation. Yes, science does operate under the assumption that the laws of physics don’t randomly change but that is an assumption that you need to make to simply talk about what you did yesterday.

What you are doing is nothing more than Ken Hams “were you there” garbage.

As for @Nabuquduriuzhur: It’s stock cherry-picking of outliers on secondary lines of evidence.

Ok, guys…did we really need to get to discussing about the tired science vs. religion argument on a comic that’s about whether or not Phoebe will continue to brush her teeth?

Just trying to put things into perspective here.

I didn’t mean to cause a religious argument, I just wanted to make a point about how you have to be careful how you choose your words. I also didn’t mean “flat earth” literally, it’s just to imply someone who’s too religious for their own good.

I’ve seen genuine flat earth arguments from time to time on the internet.

As a genuine Christian put it…

Creationism versus evolution arguments are a waste of time and energy. What matters is that you believe in what you believe and allow others to believe in what they believe. We can’t change what has happened, only live according to the precepts of our faith or lack thereof.
