The First Amendment guarantees the right to “peaceably assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances”. Showing up heavily armed and stating you’re willing to kill law enforcement officers (in Nevada AND in Oregon) is not peaceable, and does not constitute in any way a petition. The Bundys are criminals, as are all those with them at Malheur, just as their actions in Nevada were, and remain, criminal.
Amazing that folks peaceably demonstrate on the Oakland Bay bridge, and 12 are arrested, but these gun-toting goons are still drawing media, not Justice?(jail)
