The gun ban in the UK failed so spectacularly that they have now banned knives in the hopes of reducing violent crime and murder. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
Wait, huh? The UK has far far fewer mass shootings than the United States. Same with Australia. Is the US inherently more violent, or maybe does it have something to do with access to weapons of mass destruction?
Obama is not going to take your guns, Bob. Did you even bother to listen to the speech, or even read a synopsis? You’re buying into right-wing hatred that has no basis in reality. Why is it so all-fired important for you that criminals and terrorists be able to avoid the law and buy guns; so important that you bear false witness against the innocent in your cartoons?
Pres. Obama IS NOT trying to confiscate guns from LAW ABIDING citizens. He’s trying to keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn’t legally have one. Granted we can’t stop all shootings but if we can save any lives this is a start.
I live in Australia. Gun related crime is so rare here that it makes front page news when it occasionally occurs. We are proud of a society that does not live in perpetual contrived fear of its own government. We have a working democracy that is not owned by billionaires. We also recognise an armed society is not a safer society – it’s a paranoid, fear fuelled and anxiety ridden society. Have you wondered why the countries and cities consistently voted the ‘best places in the world to live’ do not have gun cultures.
@ColininAus -Since you live in Australia you must be unaware of the fact that logic and intelligence have been thrown out the window here in the States. The only thing left, based on TV news reports anyway, is fear and hatred of everything and everybody. I guess I’m either just too old or maybe I’m foolish, but I do not, and will not, live in fear of everything.
First; it was a ’buy back" situation, not confiscation, and you can still own guns in Australia. They just banned the ones favored by homicidal nut cases. Gun clubs and hunters are still all over the country.
Once more, a cartoon about how easy is it to draw cartoons when you don’t understand what was said and don’t care about the facts. Little kids might laugh at this — if one of Glenn’s pals hadn’t slaughtered them.

You do realize that of all nations, you are the laughing stock of the world.
