The Late and Unlamented never believed detour signs. He swore the road crew had finished and neglected to take their signs down. We’d drive miles only to discover the road was closed, and the crew had NOT forgotten the signs. And then he’d cuss and fuss. “I have a lot of luck and it’s all bad.”
….almost wish I could hear the conversation going on in the showroom: “Hey guys, you’ll never believe these morons I just off-loaded that lemon on!”………
On my journey to my first covid vaccine, On Star kept telling me to turn left. I knew I needed to go right, so we had quite a mess going on. I really only needed directions for the last couple of miles, and I had to listen to the voice over and over for about 10 miles telling me to go the wrong way. This is why I generally look up directions before I go someplace new, but in this case, I was actually going to the city I grew up in.

I know what you mean, Joy. Sites like Map Quest have streets and roads that aren’t there anymore or haven’t been made yet.
