That’s your plan? No phone, no lights, no motor cars? Not a single luxury?

Big story on yahoo and the national newspapers right now is on the growing problem of homelessness in Hawaii. Just make sure you saved up enough for your own surfboard before you leave.

I am balance challenged, always have been. I tried surfing as a teenager. I “borrowed” my brother’s board and paddled my way into the normally small surf we have here. Saw a wave forming, I paddled like hell, caught the wave and tried to stand up. I put too much weight on one side of the board and it did as physics said it would do, it popped up (on edge), right up to the point that my legs join together. It hit my very important and quite tender parts…..very hard. Thus ended my surfing days.

One need not go all the way to Hawaii to surf, though, it is not a bad choice.

Homelessness is a problem in some provinces of Hawaii, but primarily in O’ahu, specifically Honolulu.

And surfing? Phenomenal all over the place, especially in Kauai and north shore of O’ahu. More shark attacks lately, though.

    Aloha Kakahiaka!

You don’t need Hawaii. All you need is a board and waves.True, you may need to add a wetsuit to the mix, but still, its the waves that count.People surf waves in streams in the Rocky Mountains

Something tells me bigpuma won’t like this one, but personally I wish there would be more strips of teaching.

In my opinion, the characters have remained static for quite a while. It would be nice for an extended storyline to add depth.

whiteheronI have a slight balance problem, that is why I surf in a kayak. You can get a decent ride from small surf – I learned at Galveston and have surfed such inland places as Vancouver harbour (don’t forget the u).
