I love how Berkeley Breathed altered the name on top of just this specific strip to Berke Breathed to match the content. (B.B. used to use the contraction Berke in the early 80’s, until he learned what Berk means in British English.)
For anyone interested the rhyming slang is berk ≈ Berkley Hunt. (The rest is left as an exercise for the reader!) However, these days it mostly means a fool.

Indeed. I suppose he was Berk for short. Kind of strange it means both a moron and a vagina. What could be the connection?
