I sense no connection between rat research and giant hedge mazes.

This one was a little too close for comfort. I cried and cried when I saw the fourth panel, both for the neglected rat kit and for myself.

I was adored, and cuddled. Still autistic (“high functioning”. And chronically ill. Dad was adopted by Mom’s parents and her aunt before the wedding, his Air Force friend married Mom’s sister. The picture of me in the baby carrier on the back of Dad’s bike, he was taking me to his aunt-in-laws. Willingly. We were a few blocks away, and not far from Mom’s sister. Then there’s my godmother, Mom’s cousin. All in town, and there are pictures of me snug in their arms. But Dad’s brother was on the spectrum, and his sister had an autoimmune disease, and Mom’s sister had asthma, and Mom and Grandpa had a dominant-gene motor-neuron condition (non-fatal ALS relative). The kids in orphanages do develop emotional and health issues, but don’t look at the person who is looking over your shoulder and struggling to respond to your questions and assume the parents had anything to do with it. Vaccines didn’t, either
