Jujubes today are fake. Instead of containing gum arabic, which gave them their unique texture, they have corn starch, which is only similar if you look at it and never put it in your mouth.
Rountree’s Fruit Gums (in the UK section) is as close as I can get to real Jujubes any more. I suspect my dentist had a hand in this.
