Sounds like sleep apnea. A friend’s father denied that he snored. They taped him one night, played to him in the morning and off to the doctor he went. That took care of that. Snoring is not just a funny or irritating thing, it stops your breathing and can result in death.
Years ago, when my husband & I lived & worked within a homeless organization, we shared one of the houses with other members of the staff. One guy, Bob, snored so loud we could hear him clearly…from across the hall…with both doors closed.

In the Army, I once got kicked out of a hooch for snoring too loud…during a HURRICANE!
