I can’t understand a parent who would make a child wear something they hated to school, especially that all important first day of school. You wear something which makes you blend into the crowd and the second week, you’ll have an idea what everyone is going to be wearing.

I remember a “friend” pulling this stunt on me in high school. I got a lot of funny looks that day since I was 5 foot 11 and 240 lbs.

While my younger daughter doesn’t mind dresses per se, she prefers pants. Last year she discovered jumpsuits, which makes her a very happy girl.
