I was watching a play at the Science Museum the other night. One of the actors switched a prop gun with a real one and shot another actor. The wounded actor bled all over the stage and then the crazed actor ran after a third actor, trying to shoot him. A woman in the audience was frightened and started screaming. Sam Catchem and the police chief were there. They witnessed the bloodshed and the screaming woman. They just sat on their butts. Apparently they don’t read Crimestoppers.
Second to the last panel: JB tripped up, doing a loop the loop. See the symbolic streak behind JB, indicating his path? Since this is a SCIENCE museum, could someone explain the physics behind his fall?
Tracy Loses His “Sherlock Holmes Best Detective” Award! News at 10:00!
Seriously, Sherlock never would have walked into something like this without being prepared. Neither would Inspector Lestrade. Even Watson, notorious for not being able to see his hand in front of his face, would have known better than to do this.
VistaBill, I wonder if they sell a neat little Dick Tracy-branded two-ring binder that we can use to collect the Snotpicker’s Shambooks we’ve been cutting out and collecting all these years?
I find they tend to stay more sturdy if you glue them to construction paper (color coded by type of crime or helpful hint depicted), carefully cut around the edges, and cleanly punch out the two little holes. Maybe even embellish with a little découpage.

Michael McMillan: Now, be nice to Watson. It’s only in the movies that he’s a doddering fool. (Nigel Bruce comes to mind.) In Conan-Doyle’s stories, he’s an intelligent, respected physician. He’s frequently asked to fill in as a pathologist and do autopsies, and he testifies in court regularly.
H’mmm. So Johnny falls down the stairs, is slightly dazed, and his mask stays on?? (it isn’t even askew.) Must use super glue or something to keep it on.
neonleon59, I usually print mine out with 100-year ink on acid-free paper, then store them in a temperature and humidity controlled shelter. With a combination lock, of course.
It seems that Tracy has had time to change shoes! As I recall, yesterday he tripped the guy with a shined black oxford-like shoe. Today it’s more like a brownish loafer.

I think I’d call the police if someone’s face looked like that period or you could just say, “Ahh, walk it off!” Guess Anjanu suddenly decided to continue the play…even after she ordered it to stop.
Witness someone frightened and screaming? Take DT away from them now!
You know, despite them drilling it into us every other panel that this is at a Science Museum, the locale seems to play absolutely no part in the “plot”. Why not at stage it at the playhouse? In the park? At the police station?

Today: “Why is he trying to kill me? He’s just an actor.”
April 24: Tracy reads a note thrown through his front window. The note says: “NOTHING IS TOO GOOD FOR YOU, DICK TRACY.”
April 27: The police chief says: “Tracy, I’ve got a police unit watching over your house.” Apparently they’re taking this seriously at Police Hootrs.
April 29: Johnny Nothing tells Tracy: “We’ve haven’t met, Dick Tracy, but our relatives have.”
May 1: Tracy thinks: “The Blank was a mysterious character. Now he surfaces as Johnny Nothing?”
May 2: Tracy thinks: “It’s the Blank. But he disappeared years ago…, leaving a trail of dead bodies.”
May 7: Someone leaves a sign on the front yard of Tracy’s home. It reads: “Why is there nothing instead of something, Dick Tracy?”
CONNECT THE FREAKIN’ DOTS, DETECTIVE TRACY!!!
I formally nominate Dick Tracy for a Darwin Award.

He dropped the gun from his left hand when he fell, how did it end up in his right hand so fast?

Could that be a second gun he had tucked into his voluminous pants? Or is he just happy to see Tracy?
