That is true. “I come not to praise Caesar, but to bury him.”

Bucky makes a great point about quotes not needing to be accurate when the average person that tries to use them don’t know the actual meaning of the quote or deliberately twist the meaning to suit their own selfish agenda.

Just look at how “The customer is always right” gets abused by dishonest consumers.

“You can keep your doctor” is an excellent example.

Anyone who has ever dealt with insurance in the past 30 years knows we have been told “you can keep your doctor” and it hasn’t been true much of the time. Poor “usafmsgt” never said anything about PPACA or the government or anything that was hateful. There is only one of you exhibiting hate, and “usafmsgt” isn’t the one.

so true. i just learned calvin coolidge didn’t say “the business of america is business” they left out a couple words, and took it from a speech where he was saying the opposite!!! context, context. he was saying yeah business is important but other stuff like doing the right thing is more important. wow. who knew?

The most misquoted quote I know come from the original Star Trek. Everyone knows the phrase, “Beam me up, Scotty,” but it was never actually used on the show.

What’s your point? That obama never said that? He did on numerous occasions say that under his plan, that you can keep your doctor. Good thing for you liberals there are a lot of “stupid” voters out there. But don’t let the truth get in the way of your blind loyalty & self-righteousness,

Actually, wherefore in the R and J context means ‘Why’. She’s asking why he’s Romeo which makes him a Montegue and an enemy of her family.

“We’ll be greeted as liberators.”“I believe the insurgency is in its last throes.”“I never had sex with that woman.”How do you know a politician is lying?
