I once had a student turn in a blank paper on Taoism. I laughed – but then made him do it over properly.

“It is important to finish assignments to facilitate passing this course and getting out in the real world as quickly as possible where everything is…..It is important to stay in school as long as possible to avoid having to face the real world as long as possible. To do this properly, I must finish all assignments and strive for scholarships so I can stay in academic surroundings as long as possible.”

I like the idea of the blank page. I would suggest a 3 page report. Page 1 – title page. Page 2 – the blank page. Page 3 – the actual report/assignment. No trip to the principal!
