Too many helmets; same model was used WWII, Korea & Vietnam. As for thanks, of the 250-300 times the US has deployed our military, there was a defensive component to 1812, Civil War & WWII; if you see one of those vets, thank them. Any others, apologize for wasting their time & blood.

@2old: Couldn’t get the reply to submit: I love this song. But I think they should make God Bless America our National Anthem. Also, at the Superbowl, instead of getting these celebrities that feel the need to “spice up” our Anthem trying to out-sing previous Anthems year after year after year, we should bring in our Veterans to sing it, perhaps as a “choir” or something. And without “spicing it up!”

Thank you, Tony and Gary, as I posted at Birdbrains earlier, my Mother served as a LT. in the Army Nurses Corp. during WW2. She took care of the Nurses coming back from Bataan and Corregidor. Two of them were good friend of hers. Every time she would try to tell me about it, she broke out in tears. The things the Nurses went through was heartbreaking! My Mom went on to serve as a Registered Nurse at our local Hospital for 40 years after she discharged from the Army, with HONORS. During her time in the Service she met and nursed many famous people and WAR Heroes along the way, Black Jack Pershing, Jimmy Doolittle, Eleanor Roosevelt, General Pershing, etc. She, among riding the Hospital Trains, also worked at Walter Reed Army Hospital.

And my husband served in the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, not as illustrious as my Mom’s history but he volunteered during VietNam, not knowing what the outcome might be.
