It’s 33 years ago. The bill won’t be that bad, relatively speaking.

I believe the lady is already well acquainted with that part of the tradition.

Have you ever noticed that this 33 year old story arc is never stale or dated? Classic.

OK, you pregnant females who have had this procedure recently, has the ordeal gotten any better with time? Have they improved it so it isn’t as bad as it used to be? I want to have faith in the medical community….

@Night-Gaunt49“Since you ask, why don’t you find the answer and come back to us.”.One way to discover is to ask those who know, especially things possibly painfull, dangerous or expensive.

Defense Department? Did it cost a ton of money and fail in it’s mission?

I don’t know anyone who has done this, or I would ask them. I guess I’m hoping that the medical field has progressed enough that this procedure it is not so unnerving to the mother.

As best I can tell from reading up, the biggest change in the procedure over the years has been the Accuracy of the Ultrasound to help the doctor avoid sticking the needle into the Baby or Placenta. And, they have worked to make hte Needle as Thin as possible without risking it Bending during insertion.Oh, and the Yellow Orange antiseptic used is called Betadine™ and is an Iodine compound that has been in use since the 1950s..

Amniocentesis is a rare procedure any more. I’ve seen one: the patient was very stoic was but obviously uncomfortable. I can’t remember if they used any local anesthetic—maybe not.

She is lying there with a dress on! Even back in 1982 they would make a person undress and put on a “johnny”.
