How’s a parent supposed to distinguish guests from intruders?

Just think of it as giving them a free vacation with air travel included.

Gosh, Lio! You shouldn’t leave your friends alone like that. How was Dad to know?—Besides, they are probably safe inside the vacuum cleaner….

Cockroaches bite. They do. Trust me on that one.

I vacuum those miserable squash bugs by the thousands from my plants all summer long. They DO NOT DIE from being vacuumed, I stuff a rag in the hose end until I empty the canister. I like and welcome nearly all insects and spiders, but these are vile, disgusting creatures that will destroy my crop of winter squash if i don’t keep up with them every single day. And they are always mating. Sigh, thanks for the reminder, Lio!

Lio’s dad, do not feel bad. Those things have no place in the house. Outside, fine. Inside, never.

It’s like flies on food eating so little. It isn’t how much they eat, it’s where those little feet have been. Also, roaches produce allergens, and are gross to step even with thick soled shoes.
