“Wackobird” is John McCain’s characterization of Ted Cruz. John McCain (R-AZ) Has since apologized:

Satire can be very useful, instructive, and thought provoking. Today’s cartoon by Mr. Anderson is none of these. Mr. Cruz appeared at Liberty University to formally announce his candidacy at Jerry Falwell’s Christian University. In his speech he said, “Imagine a country where the rights of the unborn are respected.” His speech offered very little to give hope to those born into a nation already struggling to take provide jobs and opportunity to those alive and living. The speech does excite the one issue voters for whom separation of church and state means keeping religions/beliefs other than “MINE” from having a voice in politics. This election promises to be another opportunity for both sides to pick candidates most likely to further divide and weaken our nation, just as Mr. Washington said over 200 years ago.Respectfully,C.

Where did the Republicans get such a collection of wackos? For the next 18 months we will be bombarded by attack ads and tea party fruitcakes and during all that time nothing will get done in Congress while the wackos battle it out with promises of no taxes, a Berlin wall on the southern boarder, and a rising tide. How did the US get into such a screwed up condition?

I prefer imagining a world where the rights of the already born are respected. Like the right to eat, the right to adequate healthcare, and the right to a decent education.

You are right, Mr. Churchill. I only heard the sound bites first provided by NPR, and then the ones I heard when I went to Fox News to hear their assessment of his speech. If you care to send me a link to his speech in its entirety, I’d listen to it for your sake. However, none of the highlights I heard on NPR, a source you find questionable, or Fox, one in which you have more confidence, highlighted any of the issues I find important in a positive of objective way as said by Mr. Cruz. I used his comments on abortion, spoken at an institution long recognized for its anti choice agenda as an example of something I feared was going to occur during this campaign. I’m sure there will be Democrat fear mongers producing adds and commentary as soon as they get rolling.Respectfully,C.

There will be more folks who decide to run for president. If one thinks back to 2011 at this time there were also a range of candidates. We are so far from the primaries or election that speculating now is not much different than “What would I do if I won the lottery?”

Mr. Anderson continues to document the Liberal left’s fondness for invective.

Every time Cruz opens his mouth, I get the feeling he’s actually from Brazil, not Cuba or Canada, ‘cause he’s obviously a total nut, very dense shell, with the inside withered to dust.

“No a fetus is not a human being”Well, I negate your opinion by stating that a fetus IS a human being..“it may be the promise of one”What else do you think it’ll be if allowed to be brought to full term and born? Last I checked everyone born of a woman IS a human being.
