Amy... Put Zurich on hold. Sedgwick... Come here... Yes father? Get rid of that doll. No son of mine will have his mental competence called into question by having a foolish puppet on his hand!!! Well maybe if you spent less time with your accountant and more time with your son, he'd have no need to talk to a surly alter ego ventriloquist doll! Sedgwick... What did that demented puppet just say?! Nothing, sir!

Did L’il Sedgwick actually think he could get away with sassing Mr. Nuttingham?! This may mark the end of Sedgie’s companionship with his surly, outspoken alter ego….

You can see why he’s an only child and extremely lucky to exist.

Perhaps Father will like L’il Sedgie’s “gumption” and hire him on as a consultant?

Paul Winchell used to tell a story about being the first ventriloquist on TV. After a rehearsal, a worried director told him that the dummy’s voice wasn’t coming through. All were puzzled. Did it somehow not work on the new medium? The resumed the rehearsal, and Winchell heppened to look up and noticed the boom mike overhead. Whenever it was the dummy’s turn to speak, the mike shifted over to it, and away from Winchell.

This is the first time I have ever heard the dad actually “speak” to Seg. The psychological wheels are spinning.
