I’m not sure why Ponch would want to cook rice, anyway. Don’t most dogs just like plain meat?

I wouldn’t say “mostly”, just because they can survive on an omnivorous diet does not mean it is the best diet for them.Dogs are still more carnivore than omnivore.

Rice is good for dogs especially if they have an upset stomach.

Rice is no good at all for dogs. It causes too much tartar and then the teeth start rotting.

Poncho, don’t bother with the ceremony…..just go to the reception….or maybe meet Fergus at a local buffet!

Wasn’t the rice/birds things disproven? Birds will eat rice in the wild, right where it grows, and it doesn’t swell in their stomachs and make them explode.

It was a silly urban myth based on not thinking the thing through. Rice doesn’t absorb water until the water is extremely hot, and can break down the starches. A bird’s digestive system is not boiling inside.

in addition birds have a crop, a nice pre-stomach that grinds the seeds to bits before they get past.

I believe the real reason they don’t throw rice at weddings anymore is because of lawsuits. Combine the uncooked rice with the hard soled dress shoes worn to weddings and things get a little “slippery”. Like walking on a bunch of tiny ball-bearings. I say Poncho has it right…throw cooked rice!

I was referring to Poncho as a devil dog with that comment. It could be the middle of Winter and Poncho would still burn from his own evil.

They must put up scarecrows to warn birds about the dangers of eating grains then. Very thoughty of them.
