Hmm, wonder if they can, or are likely to suspect an Anglo or Polish dude, Chinese, or Navajo, of being an “illegal alien”? From reports, sorry haven’t read the actual law, it seems a tad “vague” for probable cause.

Illegal immigrants, and taking free advertising space - there’s some kind of commonality here.

Bruce, what different standard? We already treat criminals as well as or better than other countries. Are you suggesting we not treat them as criminals at all?

If folks on the left want us to allow more people into the country, they should work to change the laws, not look the other way when laws are broken.

This is starting to sound like WWII Germany. Even LEGAL US citizens can be arrested without cause. If they are hispanic & don’t have proper documentation on them they can be harassed for having the wrong skin color. Arizona is placing themselves up above federal law & should be ashamed for this racist law

^ I have a solution: require ALL citizens to carry appropriate ID at all times. ;^)

This is where we are at in America…

find excuses when illegal aliens and their American abettors break the laws.

Our Federal and State Governments claim to be legal entities; yet, they do not enforce their laws.

    Hmmmmm…..

We can’t do simple things for any amount of money (close the borders); but we can control the climate…

It’s a mistake to place it all on the illegals. It’s all about supply and demand. Much like drugs, there will /always/ be a supply of illegal aliens as long as there’s a demand for them. Hit the companies who employ illegal aliens with massive fines. It the illegals can’t get work, they’ll likely stop crossing the border.

The whole “guest worker” BS is little more than a sham to allow companies to keep hiring otherwise illegals at a pitiful wage in despicable working conditions.

Illegal is illegal, period. At the same time, this brings out the “conservatives” error AND terror—national ID cards, computer chips in the buttocks- etc.

Be careful what you wish for?

But then none of those “conservatives” have ever accidentally left the house without ID and been arrested and jailed solely because of the skin they were born in.

You seem to be just looking for something to hate. Seriously, what has an illegal immigrant ever done to you anyway? Its not like they broke into the country to steal something, they want to work and send money home. You know, Horatio Alger and all that.

Who needs racial profiling to find an alien, they should be easy to find!

If it has three eyes, green skin and antenaes, it’s an alien.

NAAAAARF! Appropriate documentation?! Of being a legal citizen?

Is this a bad time to point out this is the same State that also has the “Birther Bill” that just passed it’s House of Representatives?

Honey, they still don’t acknowledge Obama’s birth certificate as legitimate proof of citizenship. If they don’t accept a Hawaii certificate of live birth as proof of citizenship, ain’t no way they’re gonna accept your New Jersey driver’s licence to prove you ain’t sneakin’ in from El Salvador.

Dalai Lama has some very good statements on selflessness, also about respecting folks with other religions–WHO ACTUALLY OBSERVE THEIR PRINCIPLES! That happens to be driving me bats**t after their prayer here at the “tea party” for “God” to destroy “Islam and their false God”

Yep, real edurcatid folks in that thar T-party!

We already have had our first example of the effect of this law - and it isn’t even signed!! Abdon is a commercial truck driver. He pulled into a weigh station to have the truck weighed. He was asked for his papers; he gives them his commercial driver’s license, bill of lading, etc. The demanded proof he was an American Citizen. When he had no proof, he was handcuffed, picked up by Immigration and locked in a cell. His wife had to leave work, go home, get their birth certificates, and go down to immigration. When he was able to prove he was born in Fresno he was released.

Note: Abdon had not committed a crime when someone demanded his papers.

Pup, just googled “birther movement” and second listing was Wikipedia” quite extensive, with a shot of Obama’s birth certificate. It’s fancier than mine from Washington state, and just as official.

Facts are facts, what are YOU afraid of? Right, facts!

Wow! I just googled Wikipedia Birther and Wikipedia won’t allow any mention of the Birther controversy…Wonder what Wikipedia is scared of? The same thing the Governor of hawaii and the MSM is scared of?

I wanted to post a link to that “wonderful” Certificate of Live Birth that everyone touts as “surefire” proof that Obama’s Preganant mother made it from Kenya in time to have him born on American Soil…I guess I’ll just point out that the average deed of automobile ownership has more information on it than Obama’s “Certificate of Live Birth” ; which is why the Hawaiian Department of Records has a long time policy of distributing that document to people who claim to have lost their original or need such documentation for employment, etc….

    Excellent, madtrout, Thank you!

There’s even space there for a nice doodle… Maybe a Hammer and Sickle in honor of GranMa and GranPa?

Does it say if he was a Buick or a Dodge? It would be ironic if it said “Ford”…Considering they didn’t need a bail-out…

You’re right, CorFrog; I believe he’s a man who believes he doesn’t have an original American Birth Certificate…Wonder why he doesn’t come clean? If he lost his, like Bruce did - no crime there…But, then why the panic when the question was first brought up? Why the emergency “un-veiling” of the above pictured document? Why the un-preparedness on the question of his Citizenship? If there is an original showing the Doctors present, the Hospital where birth took place, Mother and childs finger-prints, baby feet-prints, etc. (like the three documents I have that register my birth) then why not show it sometime during the last 24 months? What is he, too proud to withstand public scrutiny? Who does he think he is? While we’re at it…let’s see his college transcripts and registration papers… His medical records…

Take a good look at most birth certificates. What information is actually missing from Obama’s? You have the child’s name, parent’s name & race, time and place of birth, and the date the certificate was filed. What more is there to add? What’s missing? Can anyone give an example of a birth certificate form Honolulu county of the same time frame as Obama’s that has more information?

That’s it? That’s your argument? There’s not enough to fill the page? I again ask: What’s missing? Can anyone give an example of a birth certificate form Honolulu county of the same time frame as Obama’s that has more information?

Pup went on to say “Maybe a Hammer and Sickle in honor of GranMa and GranPa?”

Come on, we’re 10 years into the new millennium. We’ve known for decades that communism was just a “red herring.” It amazes me that some people are still stupid enough to continue it.

^Are you equating Barack Obama with Jesus, Caveman?

As a side note: Jewish people were very fastidious about keeping records of their lineage; it was linked to privelleges and duties in their Society. Hence the two genealogical records attributable to Jesus found in the Book of Matthew and the Book of Luke. You see, Caveperson, for about 4000 years the Jewish people had been expecting a Messiah and they used to consider it important to keep track of their people and their Biblical Promises.

^ You’re welcome. Nah, Google works according a specific algorithm (Bing probably along something similar). It’s possible when you searched it simply didn’t kick up a result or perhaps the search criteria was too broad.

Yeah, getting impartial news nowadays is rather difficult. Straight reporting of facts perhaps only from Reuters & AP. BBC is good but even they are accused of lack of impartiality by whichever “side” feels misrepresented (I’d say they’re still pretty good). The UK is no different to the US as regards news outlets being partial to a brand of politics.

Re immigration. I’m biased on this point, as I am a migrant. I concede there is no easy solution for all parties, be it illegal migrants or legal residents. However, I’m dead set against criminalising illegal immigrants. Sure, they’re breaking labour & residency laws but by criminalising them, you push those most vulnerable in it to the darkest recesses of society. This is why you find a rather higher percentage of real criminal activity emanating from that underworld. Their movements are curtailed, so they will be likely to be drawn to break other laws. A fairer, flatter world is the only solution but until then…

Illegal immigrants are a problem and, since they are breaking the law, they are already criminals. On the other hand, to be required to carry ID at all times goes against everything that this country stands for. Such a law would be abused the first day of its enactment by some cop with an attitude and no common sense. The Arizona law is not perfect, but at least they are trying to solve a problem that the feds are ignoring for the sake of potential voters. And Arizona can pass whatever law they wish so long as it does not violate their state constitution. States joining the union did not give up their sovreignity .

If I remember correctly the Spanish explored and settled what is now Arizona nearly 300 years before the US existed. We stole that territory from Mexico after the Mexican War which was fought in large part to gain more territory for the expansion of slavery. Maybe people are just coming back to land that once belonged to them.
