Transcript:
We were shocked by the ISIS video showing them burning a Jordanian pilot alive. But when U.S. troops dropped white phosphorus on civilians, including many women and children, in Iraq in 2004, no one cared when they melted. Why the different reactions? For one thing, we care more about one guy than thousands. It's scarier if the killers dress foreign and there's weird foreign music playing. You can't be shocked by something you don't see- and the media ignored white phosphorus. When it's "your" country doing it, there must be a good reason.

Justifying your agreement(once again) with Muslim Terrorists by pointing fingers at unproven history tales.

What I saw in ’Nam was about the same as the ’toon. My son saw the same in Iraq, Bosnia, and elsewhere, with a number of folks. My striking reminder came up in Bagdhad with the image of an eight year old girl with her head blown off by “Shock and Awe”- flashback time.
To be better than our enemy, we must be better than our enemy. How many “disappeared” after arrest during the Bush years? Were they civilans as well? How many innocent were still shipped off to Gitmo, and held for years?
Willie Peter and napalm would relate to the disgusting performance of ISIL.
I DO agree they should be destroyed, but let Jordan and the countries in THEIR region do it, and handle Syria, without our “generous assistance”.

Hey Ted, you know It’s OKAY If A Republican Does It!

sadism and murder have always accompanied war. with the deliberate mass bombing of civilian populations in “the good war,” they became official policy. but we at least tried to pretend otherwise until bush jr. he and his controllers relieved us of our last vestiges of feigned or imagined innocence. and we allowed his appointment in 2,000 and then elected him in 2004. now we shrug and look the other way for our current leadership.-cartoonists such as mr. rall are our conscience. at least they flicker a bit now and then during our headlong rush to self-destruction. thanks, mr. rall. you are appreciated.

Have you ever read the definition of ‘insurgent’? It fit the ‘coalition of the willing’ much better.

So your idea is just kill whomever you disagree with? WoW, I am sure the Founding Fathers would like you.

It was reported that he had to watch the fuse burning as it approached him, so he probably knew what was about to happen.

and why was a jordanian pilot dropping bombs on people?
wmbrainiac about 9 years ago
“collateral damage”like when some involved with the first atomic bomb test thought it possible that the atmosphere itself could be set ablaze world-wide and the consensus was, “oh. yeah. well, we still have to test it, so let’s just see what happens.”the point is that we all share the same defective genetic inheritance that makes humankind amoral and extinction-bound. there is no end to the carnage that all of us are willing to wreak on each other given the delusions with which fear shields us from understanding the consequences of our actions. ISIS could obtain the nuclear material that sets off the end, but who made and stockpiled it?

I watched the video. He knew. Not that that made it any better.

“We can do what it takes to eradicate them now, which is no less that what they’re trying to do to us.”Lines like this drive me nuts. How can you say that? ISIS is cra-cra, but when have they attacked the US? Never. When have they ordered an attack outside of their own territory? Never. Americans’ false sense of victimhood – “what they’re trying to do to us” – makes it impossible to act rationally. They haven’t tried to do ANYTHING to us. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t attack them. Maybe we should. But let’s be clear: in the war against ISIS, we are the aggressors, not them.

Thank you for this, Ted. It’s an obscenity that both the politicians and a large proportion of the population support the horrific slaughter of “the other”.As for you, ConserveGov, I won’t print my response to you, because it would probably get me banned.

I witnessed a lot of that in ’Nam. It happens in any armedconflict. The only way to eliminate it is to elim inate war itself.Read Isiah2:4

I wondered once what would happen if I went to the local police station or FBI office and turned myself in for murder..Police: What murder? Me: Well, I am directly involved in the intentional hunting down and killing of many people. P: How are you involved? M: I paid taxes.P: We all pay taxes, that’s doesn’t make you a murderer.M: That’s interesting; you’d charge me if I drove the getaway car, or abetted a murderer, or if you thought I was remotely involved in any way.P: Well, yes, we would do that.M: What if I financed the murder?P: Well, you may have a point there. Hands behind your back.

we must thank the republicans for not murdering all that disagree with them. Or did I mis the point?

There are only two ways to address war: (1) Don’t go in in the first place or (2) Give your military ‘Carte blanche’ to do whatever is necessary to win.
One should never forget that it is the victor who writes the history.

You are ingnorant of what the Geneva Conventions say, aren’t you? When places like that (hospitals, etc.) are used to shield military emplacements, like Surface to Air Missiles on the roof of a hospital (which Iraq did) they become legal targets under the Geneva Conventions.
Anweir88 about 9 years ago
A “Weapon of Mass Destruction” under international law (since you were citing the Geneva Conventions earlier) are very specifically defined. Chemical Weapons, Biological Weapons, and Nuclear Weapons." That’s it. Failure number 2 on your part.

Ted Rall said, about 14 hours ago@ConserveGovI’m not Muslim and I’ve never endorsed terrorism. “Unproven fairy tales”? God, I wish I could imagine away the horrors financed with my taxes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_phosphorus_use_in_Iraq————————————————————————————I read your Wikipedia “article” and every accusation was that it was used to spot INSURGENTS, which is completely legal under international law.If you have secret info proving it was used to cause injuries to civilians, why don’t you actually write a serious article proving this. You might win a Pulitzer instead of drawing cartoons.
